Festival is a show created at Otterbein that is fully student run, from the designs, plays, dance pieces, and construction. This show was a challenge for me because I had to use less than thirty dimmers and a plot that was already set up. On top of that, I had little to no experience in lighting or communicating with choreographers and directors. I also had to strategically pick gels and lights that would work for multiple pieces, which was a bit of a challenge. We had about twenty pieces over the course of three nights and I did not have time to change gels in the lights from one piece to another, nor one night to the next. There was not a budget either, so I had to work with what I had in stock. I learned how to use an Expression 3 light-board to program the lights. Being apart of this production showed me that I am a fast learner and can make a masterpiece with little to no experience, money, or resources.
