Festival is a show created at Otterbein that is fully student run, from the designs, plays, dance pieces, and construction. This show was a challenge for me because I had to use less than thirty dimmers and a plot that was already set up. I had to strategically pick gels and lights that would work for multiple pieces. We had about fifteen pieces over the course of two nights and I did not have time to change gels, in the lights, from one piece to another, nor one night to the next. The amount of time we had to tech this production was limited and the budget was non existent, so I had to communicate fast and efficiently and use what I could find in stock. I used an Expression 3 light-board to program the lights. During the production process, I had a problem with the light board deleting most of my cues, but luckily I wrote down what the lights looked like for each cue, and was able to fix it and keep us on track without taking up too much time. Even with the compromises that I had to make, I am proud of the final product because I was able to make something beautiful out of so little.
