This production was a challenge for me because I had to learn how to successfully execute this show without an assistant or someone partially holding my hand. I was basically all on my own, in a sense, which is something that I love because I am able to learn so much more if I am trying to figure something out on my own, opposed to someone showing me exactly how to do it. Through this show, I learned how to wire a practical and hang/focus a plot with a small amount of people that had little experience. I had to communicate with the lighting designer, prepare paperwork and materials for hang and focus using Vectorworks, Word, and Lightwright, and supervise crews as they completed tasks. Part of the difficulty with this show was the deck and platforms that were apart of the set; I had to plan out every move at focus to make sure that we got everything focused in the least amount of time possible. Needless to say, in the end, everything went smoothly and the lighting designer was nice enough to teach me a few things on our Ion lighting board, like making the gas light effect for the lamp using a step-based effect.
