Description:

Mental Puke is an original play written by my college roommate. It has not been officially published, but I got so invested in the world of this play that I had to revolve my assignment around it. I made a color model of the play in 1/2" scale. The idea for the model came completely from my imagination of what the set might look like if this play was ever produced. The play takes place in four major areas and psychologically messes with the brain. I also sensed that the characters feel broken and trapped in the world that they are in. I created a color model to emulate the feelings of the characters and the atmosphere in the play. I used AutoCAD to create the ground-plan and used foam board, wooden dowels, fiberboard, card-stock, and paint to create the color model. This was the first time that I had made a color model for an actual play, instead of just a picture, in scale. I was also very happy to hear that the playwright liked my vision for the set!
