Rumors was the first show that I got to work with a student lighting designer on. As we went through the process of putting this show together, we had a lot to learn. I did not have an assistant master electrician on this show so I had to learn to do everything on my own. My responsibilities included, but were not limited to, communicating efficiently and clearly with the lighting designer, scheduling work sessions, preparing paperwork and materials for hang and focus sessions, and supervising and coordinating tasks for crews. The set for this show was fairly large and did not move, which was one of the challenges with this show because I had to plan out every move for the crew during hang and focus. I had to try my best to make sure everyone was working on something at all times, even if they were not in one of the two lifts that we were using. I had to use Vectorworks, Word, and Lightwright to create the paperwork necessary for successfully setting the lights up for this production.
